Mr Edmund Chedgy
Mr Chedgy has been a Consultant Urological Surgeon since 2018. Although his main speciality focus is Urological Oncology, he is also has an interest in General Urology. He is an expert in robotic surgery including robotic radical prostatectomy. Mr Chedgy is passionate about introducing new robotic procedures in a safe and effective manner. His main focus is on the assessment and management of prostate and kidney cancer. However, he also enjoys treating general urology conditions including scrotal and genital surgery.
Mr Chedgy graduated in 2006 from King’s College London, studying at some of London’s most prestigious hospitals. He has a degree in medicine as well as pharmacology with biomedical science. Moreover, he has additional knowledge in healthcare management since he finished his Masters in 2013. His basic surgical training was in both the Wessex and Severn Deanery, followed by higher specialist urological training in Wessex deanery. At the end of his training, Mr Chedgy underwent a specialist fellowship in urological oncology at the University of British Columbia and Vancouver Prostate Centre.
Mr Chedgy has won a number of prizes during his career including: CUA-AUA International Fellows Program and a Global Action Award.
Mr Chedgy’s research portfolio has centred around urological oncology including prostate and bladder cancer research. He has had a number of high impact papers in prostate cancer genomics.
Mr Chedgy holds clinics at the Spire Southampton Hospital and the Nuffield Wessex Hospital
